Champions for Kids fundraiser - Where is Pakenham?
Posted Feb 16, 2012 By EMC NewsEMC Events - Many children in the area do not have access to sports activities, piano lessons, glasses, or dental care due to financial circumstances. The Upper Canada District School Board Champions for Kids Foundation was formed in January 2008 to aid in leveling the playing field for children.
The charitable wing of the UCDSB raises funds to allow children to play sports, enjoy the arts, and to seek medical and dental care.
The UCDSB Champions for Kids has formed a partnership with Mount Pakenham to raise funds for the foundation and are asking for the help of the public.
On Monday, Feb. 20, at Mount Pakenham, whether you choose downhill skiing, boarding, cross-country skiing, the Winter Outdoor Wonder program, or tubing just hand in a voucher (for information on vouchers please contact your local school) and a percentage of the funds will be credited to the foundation. Just photocopy the voucher and bring along your friends, neighbours, family - what a great deal for everyone.
The UCDSB is inviting everyone to celebrate Family Day and help raise money for a worthy cause by embracing our beautiful Canadian winter and participating in one of the many outdoor activities offered at Mount Pakenham.
There will also be a chili dinner and hot chocolate offered at Pakenham Public School between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. - admission by donation. Log on to www.mountpakenham.com for more information about the facilities.
