The British and the Dutch are coming
Posted Jan 5, 2012 By Pam PrattEMC Lifestyle - The best British flower show - The Chelsea Flower Show - 2011 Edition and the best Dutch flower show in the world - Keukenhof 2011 - are being featured on January 10, 2012, at the famous annual Perth & District Horticultural Society (PDHS) "Movie Night" in the PDCI Auditorium.
Join us for a guided tour of these two great spectacles.
Chelsea - a fabulous annual show, outdid itself in 2011. Enjoy the grandeur and spectacular design of the Show Gardens and the imaginative and inspirational themes in the smaller Urban and Artisan categories. See the tallest garden, the best garden in show and a colourful, dramatic floral display inspired by the forests of Rwanda. The DVD also gives you an exclusive look behind the scenes - as fascinating as the finished product.
Keukenhof, a stunning amalgamation of Dutch bulbs and artistic creativity, will take your breath away and give you a brief glimpse of what Spring could actually be. It may even give you some new ideas and inspiration for your own bulb garden!
Take a winter break and saunter through some of the best gardens in the world with us.
Everyone is welcome, a little earlier than usual, at 7 p.m. in the PDCI Auditorium on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012. Non-members are asked to pay $3 at the door and are always welcome. We will even have popcorn!
Why not consider joining the PDHS? Membership is only $10 for the year and includes monthly meetings with interesting speakers, an informative website, an annual Yearbook and 10 per cent discount at local nurseries.
You will also make a lot of new friends and can participate in a lot of fun activities.
