OPP investigating multiple thefts
Posted Jul 29, 2010 By EMC NewsEMC News - Carleton Place Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of items from two local retail stores totalling more than $28,000.
Sometime between the evening of July 21 and the morning of July 22 entry was gained to the storage trailers located at the Rona on McNeely Avenue. Five Yard Machine snow blowers of various colours and sizes were removed. The value is approximately $20,400.
On the same date, the Canadian Tire on McNeely Avenue had two storage trailers broken into. Thirty Good Year Nordic snow tires of various sizes with a total value of approximately $8,100 were taken.
STOLEN TOOLS
Lanark County OPP is investigating the theft of tools in three separate occurrences.
On July 5, police received a report of a theft from a construction site on Bridge Street in Carleton Place, which occurred between July 2 and July 5. A storage unit was entered and various Hilti, Makita, Milwaukee and Nikon power tools, such as a rotary hammer, hammer drill, reciprocating saw, automatic level and other accessories, were removed. The total value of property is approximately $16,000.
OPP received a report July 16 regarding a break and enter on Industrial Avenue in Carleton Place. Overnight, July 15, suspect(s) gained entry into a commercial property and took approximately $7,500 worth of tools, including six orange Pas Load nail guns.
On July 19, police received a report of a break and enter on Highway 15 in Beckwith Township. Suspects entered a residence under construction between July 16 and July 19 and removed various Bosh, Dewalt and Hitachi power tools, including a mitre saw, table saw and air compressors. The total value of property is over $5,500.
