EMC Events - The impending puppet invasion of Almonte the weekend of Aug. 7 and 8 continues to get everyone in Mississippi Mills and area excited.

The two-day Puppets Up! International Puppet Festival - devoted to the art of puppetry and the creation of fun - received major news this week. The Ambassador to Canada from Taiwan will be in attendance at the special opening night reception (Aug. 6), and he will be a parade marshal for the parade!

During the festival, traditional Taiwanese puppet theatre stylings, along with the creativity of puppet carvers, designers, musicians and writers, will be showcased as the Taiyuan Puppet Theatre Company presents 'A Sea of Puppets'.

Master puppeteer Chen Xihuang and his troupe have entranced audiences in venues in over 20 countries around the world.
