Who's selling at the Almonte Market?

Tweet ThisEMC Business - In 2009, Katie Thom took over a half-acre of land on the dairy farm she grew up on - just on the outskirts of Almonte. She started The Veggie Patch CSA and became a vendor at the Almonte Farmers' Market.
Since Thom was signing up for the season, she decided to bake for her stall until there were vegetables ready. She soon had a following for her lemon and butter tarts. Thom continued to bake throughout the summer and dedicated half of her table to sweet treats and the other half to garden produce.
Thom is back at the Almonte Farmers' Market this year, and she has increased the size of her garden and doubled her CSA customer base.
In addition, Thom, this year on weekday evenings, has a roadside vegetable stand on Rae Road (near 7th Line), and she fills special orders for a number of sweets, including cheesecakes, decorated and wedding cakes.
