A quacking good time at the Perth Horticultural Society
Posted Mar 4, 2010 By Pam PrattEMC Events - On March 9, come and join the Perth Horticultural Society as we welcome guest speaker, Samantha Klink, co-owner with her husband Aaron, of Funny Duck Farms (www.funnyduckfarms.com) in Jasper, Ontario.
With the motto "any fresher and you'd have to slap us", Funny Duck Farms is a certified organic farm producing fabulous things like pasture raised meats, eggs, handpicked herbal teas, tinctures and remedies as well as natural skin care products, veggies of all kinds and garlic. All organic and all fresh, of course!
In this season of flu and plain old sore throats and colds, Samantha is going to talk to us about common herbs that can easily be harvested and grown to support our health and well-being. She will tell us about winter herbal helpers which boost immunity and help our general health that can be found around our own homes or grown in our own gardens during the summer. Since we are moving into spring, Samantha will show us herbs that can be harvested this spring and made into healthful teas and tinctures.
Samantha will also be showing samples of her herbs for health and how to present them for gift giving.
So quack on over to Perth for the evening. Bring a friend, enjoy a snack and talk to Samantha about her favourite subject.
Think Spring - The Great Perth Plant Sale will take place in May again this year. The Perth Hort. Society will be selling a large variety of healthy plants for your garden at reasonable prices. Watch this space for more information on time and place.
