EMC Sports - The Carleton Place Canadians would like to announce a very special game this coming Friday, Jan. 8 versus the Cumberland Grads.

Fifteen year veteran of the NHL, current member of the Ottawa Senators and Carleton Place native Shean Donovan will be honoured by the Canadians in a pre-game ceremony. Donovan grew up in Carleton Place where he attended school and began his hockey career early on with the Ottawa Valley Titans organization then on to a brilliant four year stint with the OHL's Ottawa 67's.

In the 1993 NHL Entry Draft Donovan was chosen in the second round, 28th overall by the San Jose Sharks. Since then Donovan has played over 900 games for seven teams including the San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins and the Ottawa Senators, accumulating over 200 points and almost 700 penalty minutes. This will be an excellent opportunity for young and old alike to get to meet one of the most popular Ottawa Senators in his old home town. Come out early as this is sure to be a hot ticket. Game time is 7:20 p.m. at the Carleton Place Community Centre.
